Brendon Green, Founder & Managing Director

bgBrendon is of Ngati Hikairo (Tainui waka) and Ngapuhi descent and brings experience from both sides of the table where he has played instrumental roles in the development of projects with specialist experience in energy, forestry, oil & gas, water, geothermal, dairy and minerals.

Brendon brings over 20 years experience in resource development having worked in and with some of NZ’s and the world’s largest corporates. Companies worked for include the NZ Dairy Board, Contact Energy, General Electric and Mighty River Power – Mercury. Companies worked with include BP, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, NBC-Universal, Iberdrola, Watercare and Fonterra.

Qualifications: Brendon has a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons) (Canterbury University), a Post Graduate Diploma in Dairy Science & Technology (Massey University) and has completed executive leadership programs with General Electric at the company’s leadership school in Crotonville, New York.

 

David Reeve, Advisor

Background: David started his career as an electrical apprentice at Te Awamutu Electric Power Board in 1983, finishing as Assistant Engineer. Within a small distribution business David had exposure to all aspects of distribution.

In 1993 David moved to ECNZ to be part of the inaugural Waikato Hydro Control Centre as an operator. Seconded to ECNZ’s central offer team in October 1996, David has been involved with the New Zealand Electricity Market ever since.

David transferred to Mighty River Power as part of the break-up of ECNZ in 1999. At Mighty River Power David held roles including Spot Trading Manager, Industry Strategy Manager, General Manager (Metrix – metering) and Enterprise Risk Strategist. As part of these roles he managed or oversaw the company’s exposure to transmission and market risks, regulation, capital programme, power development valuations and financial business cases, company and project insurance and trading/market risk management.

He has been consulting to the industry since 2009, predominantly in New Zealand, but also to Ireland, Australia, Tonga and Singapore. He is currently a Consulting Director with Sapere Research Group (a consultancy) and a Managing Director of Whiteboard Energy (an executive electricity education business).

Steve Sewell, Advisor

ssewellSpecialist Expertise: Geothermal Reservoirs & Geology

Background: Background – Steve is a geoscientist with over 10 years’ experience in geothermal resource exploration, development, field operations and research at four developed geothermal fields and over twenty prospects in six countries. He worked at Mercury (formerly Mighty River Power) for six years as a geophysicist and project geologist for the Rotokawa geothermal field. He has extensive expertise in design, acquisition, analysis and interpretation of most types of geophysical surveys used in geothermal exploration and field performance monitoring, including MT, TEM, gravity, micro earthquake and precision gravity methods. He also has expertise in the development of resource conceptual models supporting numerical reservoir simulation, well targeting and resource capacity risk assessment in both volcanic and sedimentary-hosted geothermal resources. His experience in geothermal resource management has included well planning and assisting with drilling and field operations.

Qualifications: – Post Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology, University of Auckland – Bachelor of Science with honours (Geophysics)

 

Paul Ware, Advisor

Background: Career with Tasman Pulp and Paper, Fletcher Forests & Mighty River Power. 10 years’ experience in geothermal. Projects of note include Project Manager of Kawerau 105MW and Nga Awa Purua 140MW geothermal projects. Field and Operations Manager of MRP’s geothermal stations. Experience also with geothermal projects in Chile, USA and Indonesia

Steve Shirley, Advisor

Background: A Business Manager with extensive engineering and commercial experience in multiple industrial sectors across international and domestic markets. Key expertise includes leadership of Power Generation development renewable and thermal from initial concept through FEED and detailed engineering design, asset operation & maintenance optimisation. I have strength in mechanical engineering, project management, commercial bid and contract negotiation, service agreements, customer and people management.
I have 27 years’ industrial experience in Power, Consultancy, Construction and Aviation industries.

Qualifications: Trade Certificate – Mechanical Aircraft Engineering; Bachelor Engineering – Mechanical (Hons); MBA (University of Auckland)

 

Jay Manning, Advisor

Specialist Expertise: Power plant development, Gas turbine procurement and services.

Background: Jay is based in Houston, Texas and has spent his career in power generation where he held technical and senior executive commercial roles with Stewart & Stevenson (VP International Sales) and General Electric (General Manager, Global Sales).
